The Saintly Life of Kirtida Devi
by Sarvabhauma dasa (Peter Alan Medley).

The story of her life on four continents, her special bond with her spiritual master - Tamal Krishna Goswami, and her extraordinary death.

When doctors predicted she had only a few months to live she moved to Vrindavan to die. However, Krishna had another plan for her. Though ailing, over the next eight years, Kirtida attended the sick, led pilgrims on tours of the holy places, gave personal medical care and spiritual counsel to the dying, and donated liberally from her life savings to needy individuals and projects.

At the end, she fasted from all food for nine weeks and drank no liquids, not even water during her last six days, yet she experienced boundless bliss. According to Goswami, "by her self-willed death, Kirtida cheated a ravaging cancer from ending her life."
